Tiverton Town let a two goal lead slip in their opening game of the season against Hayes and Yeading, as the sides shared the points in a 2-2 draw.
Goals from Michael Landricombe and Olaf Koszela put the yellows in the ascendancy, before second half goals from debutants, James Clark and Obi Ogo salvaged a point for the away side.
The hosts got off to a perfect start and were ahead after just five minutes. Yellows’ captain, River Allen, delivered an inviting cross into the box and was met by Landricombe who nodded the ball beyond Ravan Constable to give Tiverton the lead.
The remainder of the half saw the home side dominate possession and they almost added to the score line through close strikes from Allen and Koszela.
Within a minute of the second half starting, Tiverton had scored again. Following a mix up between Constable and a Hayes defender, the ball rolled into the path of Torquay United loanee, Koszela, who curled the ball into the empty net.
Not long after the home team added a two-goal cushion, Hayes pulled back a goal of their own through debutant, James Clark. Lewis Williams originally made a fantastic save to deny Toby Little, before Clark tapped the ball home to give his side a chance of a comeback.
Five minutes later Hayes were dealt another blow as Matt Hall picked up his second yellow card after a challenge on Noah Smerdon.
This didn’t seem to disrupt the away side’s momentum as on the 69th minute, Obi Ogo smashed home the equaliser, resulting in the points being shared.
